below.
What is an RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an easy way to be notified when new content
appears on your favorite websites. Among other things, RSS
enables Mt. View to Podcast its Sermon audio.
Adding a News Feed to your News Reader
Using your mouse right click on the
link below. In the Microsoft
Internet Explorer program select "copy shortcut" and in Netscape
program select "Copy Link Location" from the pop-up menu. Launch your
news aggregator or news reader application and paste the news feed URL into
the "add new feed" window. Detailed instructions on how to add news
feeds are included in the news reader application installed on your computer.
When a new Sermon audio file is posted by Mt.
View your news reader will inform you through a pop-up window or other alert
notice. If you close your news reader, you will be notified of any news
feed updates the next time you launch your reader.
What is a Podcast and how do I
subscribe?
A
is an audio file that
you can download from the Internet onto your computer or a portable media
player like the Apple iPod, iPhone, or an MP3 player. You can also download these
files to your desktop and listen to them on your personal computer, but in
order to automatically receive the latest audio file (through a RSS Feed) you'll need
to subscribe, which is free.
To subscribe to a Mt. View Podcast using the iTunes
program,
under the "Advanced" menu, select "Subscribe to a Podcast" and paste in the
